This is actually a review for the Battlefield 1942 demo. The demo is really underestimated.
Once you install the Battlefield 1942 demo from the official site, you can play the multiplayer online Battlefield game on the “Wake Island” map.
Wake Island is one of the most popular Battlefield maps — for good reason. It’s USA vs. Japan, and the demo only allows the “Conquest” game mode (the most exciting game mode in my opinion).
Even though it’s been many years already, the demo is still actively being played. You’ll still find plenty of dedicated servers that are filled up every now and then.
On Wake Island, Japan starts on ships only. You can get to land by landing craft or airplane in the game.
USA starts on Wake Island and is required to defend the island.
It’s a fun conquest game mode because USA doesn’t have ships that re-spawn. Once the USA runs out of flags, the game is over!
If you play USA, make sure you keep all the flags. When it comes down to just one flag or so (you start with 5), it becomes really intense! Japan will start dive bombing with its AichiVal dive bombers and the occasional Zero pilot. The tanks will be rolling in. You have to defend your last base at all costs!
Overall, it’s lots of fun and Battlefield 1942 has infinite replay value with its fantastic multiplayer gaming aspect.
