Warcraft 3 comes with a tower defense scenario by default with the game it ships: Azure Tower Defense.
This blog post will cover strategy to beat the default Azure Tower Defense game.
The Azure Tower Defense game is split into 40 levels with each 10 levels being a “boss” gaming stage.
The first 10 levels are obviously the easiest. The creeps that come in are both weak and slow. You can get by with just normal cannon and arrow towers, but you’ll want to have several frost and thunder towers before level 10 when the Pit Lord bosses come. Additionally, make sure you summon at least two heroes before level 10. I usually go with the Tiger Preistess and the Lich hero; the former can entangle, and the latter can cast sleep AND he has a passive stun skill that can stun almost 40% of the time PER ATTACK!
To beat the bosses at the level 10 game stage, just stun, sleep, and entangle them next to your towers and hit them with all you have. Try to focus on each boss one by one. Once you’ve beaten one, move on to the next one.
The next 10 levels involve fast units. Mass up lightning towers and ice towers at this time. You should also consider upgrading your lightning and ice towers. You’ll have to save up for it though because it can be expensive!
Before level 20, build the Crystal Cardinal and build towers around your base for seeing invisible units. The level 20 bosses are invisible without these towers!
From levels 21-30, you’ll be dealing with heavy, slow units. You really want to just stave off as much of their attack as possible during these 10 levels while you save up for the Crystalis technology. You’re going to leak several creeps through, but it’ll be worth it later.
Once you have Crystalis, mass it up preferably before the level 30 boss battle! If you don’t have at least one Crystalis tower before level 31-35, you’re pretty hopeless.
Your entire base should be full of Crystalis towers for levels 31-39.
Level 40 is the final boss stage, but if you have enough Crystalis towers, it shouldn’t be too difficult!
